Aesthetec collaborated with contemporary dance company Zata Omm Dance Projects to carry out an experimental research project: generating electricity from dancers’ movements. We created a series of devices designed to generate electrical pulses, using techniques such as flexible solar panels, magnets and coils, piezo generators, and peltier plates. The prototypes we created were either attached to the dancer’s limbs or designed to be used as props on stage, allowing us to harvest waste energy from the dance for other uses.
